Autunno in Barbagia
Autunno in Barbagia is the travelling festival that since 1996 has brought dozens of villages in the Barbagia and surrounding areas to life between September and December: every weekend a different village opens its cortes, the traditional stone courtyards, turning them into open-air workshops of flavours, crafts and music.
Gadoni, Adòni in Sardinian, is a small village of the Barbagia di Belvì, in the province of Nuoro, set on a plateau overlooking the Flumendosa river valley at the foot of the Gennargentu massif. The area has been inhabited since pre-Nuragic and Nuragic times and was part of the Roman Barbaria — one of the regions of the island never fully Romanised. Through Autunno in Barbagia, its cortes open to visitors to celebrate the agro-pastoral culture and traditional crafts of the Barbagia di Belvì.
